 | | Employment Opportunities & Apprenticeships One of the strengths of our business is the value we place on training and retaining our workforce so that we have a culture of quality and integrity, and ethos of being a leader in the industry. Currently, we employ approximately 350 tradesmen, 30 Labourers, 30 Apprentices and plan to increase our apprentice numbers over the next 2 years.
We are proud of our aim to train and retain a fully qualified workforce, and plan to up-skill all willing employees. We currently have signed up 25 of our long term tradesmen to complete their trade papers. Our long term plan is by 2012 to have a fully qualified workforce. We also have an up-skilling training program for our labourers which includes Safety Representatives, Forklift, Stop & Go, EWP and Laser Training.
We currently employ 30 apprentices. The Scooter Groups’ goal is to employ 15 to 20 apprentices a year to grow our workforce. We have our own in-house training program in place which means that our apprentices never have to leave the job to go to TAFE. To assist with training our apprentices, we have employed an Apprentice Co-ordinator, Dave Rodgers. Dave works with our apprentices on a one on one basis, to ensure each of them receives individual attention, and outstanding training.
Our training doesn’t stop on the job site, it continues through to our office staff and management who are always up-skilling through courses and programs. We are continually looking for new trades people, labourers, employees and apprentices for continual growth of our company as we have many large projects all over Queensland.
